Congratulations to Sera Tadokoro of Osaka, Japan on verbally committing to play college golf at the University of Central Florida and Coach Emily Marron.

Sera says this is “dream come true” at the chance to play college golf!! She immediately phoned home to Japan to share the news with her parents. Emotions ran high as she celebrated the opportunity with her parents and made the agreement that this was the right decision for her.

Coach Chris Malloy worked College Golf Camps – Orlando in 2013. Coach Malloy will be attending College Golf Camps – Hilton in July and College Golf Camps – Orlando in August.

Mississippi alum Chris Malloy has been named the men’s head golf coach of the Rebels on Monday.

“I am extremely excited to return to my alma mater (2001) as the head coach of this program,” Malloy said. “Anyone that has ever been to Oxford knows how special of a place it truly is. There is no other college town like it in the country. Anyone that knows me can also attest to my passion for Ole Miss athletics as well. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me and my family and I am extremely excited to get back home and win a national championship as a Rebel.”

Malloy heads to Ole Miss after stints at South Florida (head coach, 2010-14) and Florida State (assistant coach, 2006-2010).

At South Florida, he led the Bulls to their first Big East Conference title in 2013 while being named the Big East Coach of the Year. Chase Koepka was named Big East Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year under Malloy.

In 2014, South Florida joined the American Athletic Conference and finished fourth in the conference championship. The Bulls finished 10th at the NCAA San Antonio Regional. Malloy and South Florida finished 33rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.

“It is extremely difficult to walk away from a group of guys that I consider my family,” Malloy said of leaving South Florida. “We have had a great run over the last couple of years and this is a very special group. I look forward to watching them continue to rewrite the record books for many years to come. I want to also thank USF for giving me my first opportunity as a head coach. This is a first class organization.”

During his playing days at Mississippi, Malloy led the Rebels to a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Championship 1999 and an 11th-place finish at the NCAA East Regional in 2000 as a two-year letter winner and team captain.

5 Questions and Answers about College Golf Camps of America.

1. Are all these colleges going to be there? I mean really? Yes, REALLY, the NCAA guidelines allow for coaches to work camps. So, we have contracted over 18 major college coaches within the NCAA guidelines…no different than coaches running their own camps, CGC is the buffet of College Golf Coaches at one camp….make sense?
2. Does the junior golfer receive evaluations from the camps? Yes, Yes, Yes…..that’s 3 yes’s, each player who attends our events receives no less than 3 written evaluations from college golf coaches who attend our events. Exceptional feedback from the CGC staff, use the evaluations to understand where you are compared to current college golfers!!

3. How will the coaches see me play? Great question, coaches in attendance will be roaming the camp all day, from the range to the golf course. We will assign each coach a cart and 3-4 holes to per day. Those coaches will watch players come through their assigned holes each day. They will be assigned 3-4 holes on the first day and then 3-4 different holes the next. Having over 18 coaches in attendance, every hole will have an overlap of coaches…..hence forcing them to watch players come through so they can coach, evaluate, instruct, etc…..pretty cool huh?
4. Do my parents need to attend? Absolutely, it is the opinion of the CGC that the parents could get as much or more information from the camp as their son or daughter. Parents can do everything but play. They can rent a cart and follow their son/daughter. They need to attend the clinics. They will be full of big-time information from college coaches. These clinics are geared to educate the players and the parents!!
5. Is my handicap too high? I’m I good enough? This is a great question, but you and your parents are the only ones to answer it. We are open to all players of all skill-sets. This camp is geared for players who want to play college golf, period. Who are we to label a player and say they good enough? Don’t ever allow someone to label you.
