Successful junior golf walk-ons

There are so many questions to answer for junior golfers when referring to college golf. Getting a straight answer about tough questions can often be difficult. The college golf landscape comes in all shapes and sizes.

For example, many families of junior golfers fall in love with school mascots and colors. When in fact they should be falling in love with the schools academics and researching the coaches as much as possible. There are so many examples of smaller colleges that have tremendous success on the golf course, however they don’t have a huge football or basketball program.

Here are two great article written by Golfweek’s Beth Ann Nichols. She follows the success of junior golfers who walked-on at various colleges.

In their words: College-golf walk-ons who made it.

Success stories exist along the hard road of a college walk-on

Golf scholarships doesn’t guarantee success, sometimes walking-on to program with great coaches are the keys to success. College Golf Camps does not provide recruiting services. Our goal is to provide a great information opportunity to learn about golf from the short-game to full swing to course management and of course, college golf. We encourage every junior golf family to research the school’s academics, coaching staff then align those with your personal goals.

Junior golfers and families have a great opportunity at one of our College Golf Camps to get tough questions answered. Campers will surely learn and improve all facets of their game by attending a CGC event.
