CGC Men’s Coach of the Week – JC Deacon, University of Florida

Congratulations to Head Golf Coach JC Deacon, University of Florida, he is our CGC Men’s Coach of the Week. Coach Deacon was named Head Coach this past Summer after spending time at UNLV. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever met. He has been apart of two College Golf Camps.

His roster includes players from Florida and Canada.

The Gators start their season February 2nd at Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass . They currently rank 53rd in the Golfweek rankings.

UNLV for Coach Dwaine Knight

What is your greatest achievement?

Marrying my wife Jessica!

What is your proudest moment as a coach?

When our 2013 UNLV golf team rallied in the final round of the Natty Championship to beat every team in the field by at least 8 shots. We then made it through a 4 for 3 playoff and qualified for match play. It was the most incredible day!

What trait do dislike the most?

Lazyness

What trait do admire the most?

Hard working!

What is your greatest fear?

Being late.

What is your favorite place to eat on the road?

Padilla’s in New Mexico or Chipotle anywhere!

Best advice you received as a junior golfer?

Don’t try and change everything to get better. Be great at what YOU do/what got YOU to this point.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I need 8 hours of sleep. I wish I only needed 4 or 5 like Coach Mike McGraw..

What is your greatest regret?

Being too technical about my golf swing/game.

Favorite colors?

Blue for the Gators and my Toronto Maple Leafs!

What is your motto?

Be really nice to people!

Talent you most desire in your players?

A true love for the game of golf!
